Dear Pooja,
Thanks for your inquiry. You may find out more about the LASIK procedure by following this link:
http://lasikblogindia.com/lasik-procedure-2/
Regarding the cost, it varies a lot-depending on the place, the experience and reputation of the treating doctor, and the technology available.
In general, the least you can expect to pay for LASIK (both eyes) in India is Rs. 15000/-. The most you would expect to pay is about Rs. 85000. What you should pay depends a little on your budget, and the confidence that the treating doctor inspires in you. My guess is that you should not go to centers which are too cheap. They generally cut corners in technology, which is not always nice.
As a representation of costs at a highly reputed center, please follow the following link

Dear Mayank,
My advise is, don’t fall prey to manufacturer trade names. ZYOPTIX is not different from LASIK. It is simply a type of wavefront guided customized LASIK on a particular type of machine. It is not very special.

Hello,
I was checking on internet for my Eye surgery and i came across this wonderful site.
This is really highly informative and very helpful.
Thanks for maintaining this.
I have very High powers in both of my eyes (-10.5R and -12L).
This time when i am coming to India, i plan to have the evaluation done for the LASIK.
So that i can plan myself when i can have the most appropriate surgery.
Can you guide me which Hospital i can visit in Delhi for evaluation, for my very high power correction ?
I would not consider cost an issue because i understand that because of my High power, i would need to spend good amount of money.
A good recognized hospital with experienced doctors and good equipments is what i am looking for.
Please send me email directly if needed.
Thanks alot,
Ankur

Dear Ankur,
Those are high numbers. You need to make sure that your keratometry reading > 43-44, and that your corneal thickness is >520, otherwise, you are not likely to get good results.
I would suggest that you undergo Blade Free LASIK or No Blade LASIK with a femtosecond laser for your high numbers. With a femtosecond laser, the surgeon can make a lasik flap which is relatively accurate. This will help with your high refractive error.
Currently (to the best of my knowledge), two clinics in Delhi offer Blade Free LASIK. These are Dr. S. Bharti’s Clinic (in East Patel Nagar). and Center for Sight (in Safdarjung Enclave). You should expect to pay between Rs. 80000 to Rs. 100000 for both eyes.
Best Regards and Best of Luck

Sorry for the really late reply.
There are lots of good LASIK surgeons in Delhi. I guess you are best served by someone in the area you live or work in. If you let me know the area you live in, perhaps I can guide you better.

Hi Samir -
I am coming from Ny to Delhi for business and been wanting to get Lasik done for a while. In US I am getting a deal of 3,800 for both eyes bladeless but if I use my Flexible Spending Account the price goes down to 2,700. The machine in US doing the procedure is a Wavelight Allegretto 400Mhz.
I am coming with my wife and will be there for two weeks. We will be travelling everyday.
Do you recommend that I can have a good trip if I get bladeless done in Delhi? Meaning for the rest of my trip I will be fine. The savings I feel will be 1000 US Dollars if done in India.

Thanks for your enquiry.
There are lots of places where LASIK can be undergone in Delhi. Please check LASIK IN DELHI (NCR) for details on the places where you can undergo LASIK. Regarding cost, it can vary a lot. It can be as little as Rs. 15000/- for two eyes, and as much as Rs. 100000 for two eyes, depending on the surgeon, the machine and the technique.

Why do you want to undergo LASIK in Delhi, when you are there for a relatively short time You can easily undergo LASIK in Surat itself.
You can also undergo LASIK in Kolkata.

I think you will indeed save about USD 500-1000 if you undergo bladeless lasik in Delhi. The technology available in India is pretty good. Two weeks should be sufficient time.

Hi Sunil,
Are you looking for a hospital in Delhi, or anywhere in India?
Per se, you are likely to benefit greatly by undergoing LASIK. However, you do need to understand that if your eye with the error has diminished vision, even with glasses, (i.e a lazy eye), you will not improve your vision in that eye. The only thing is that the vision will be acheived without glasses, and your eyes will be in balance.
